Firefighters Respond to House Fire in Gilberton



Firefighters responded to a house fire in Gilberton on Sunday evening.

Just before 8:30pm, Sunday, emergency personnel were dispatched to 115 Main St, Gilberton for a report of a house fire.

Personnel arrived on scene to find a small amount of smoke coming from underneath a modular home.

Firefighters pulled a line and hit the small fire with water.  With the help of a thermal imaging camera, they checked for any extensions, but found none.

According to Gilberton Fire Marshal, Barry Brassington, the cause was still under investigation.  The occupants of the home were allowed to return.

Responding to the scene were fire companies from Gilberton, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, Frackville, and Englewood.

Firefighters cleared the scene within an hour.
