Pennsylvania State Police Investigating Shooting Incident at Turkey Hill in Hazle Township

The Pennsylvania State Police at Hazleton are investigating a "shooting incident" that occurred at a Turkey Hill in Hazle Township on Thursday.

According to troopers, on Thursday, November 30th, 2023, around 4:50pm, police from the Hazleton barracks responded to the Turkey Hill Gas Station, located at 70 Station Circle, in Hazle Township for a report of a shooting.

Through interviews at the scene, Troopers learned that Rushettia Natane Wilson, 31, of Mahanoy City, was exchanging custody of her 4-year-old daughter with Joseph Fabio Feliciano, 30, of Effort.

During the exchange, a domestic dispute occurred and during the struggle, a single shot was fired from a 9mm pistol.

The shot struck Feliciano in the leg.

After the shooting took place, Feliciano left the scene in his vehicle with his daughter still inside the vehicle and travelled to the area of East Cranberry Avenue and 5th Street in West Hazleton.

West Hazleton Police responded and requested an ambulance to transport Feliciano to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

While his injuries were non-life threatening, Feliciano was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for additional care.

Troopers say the investigation is still active and the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the public.

As of late Thursday, no charges were filed but police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Hazleton Barracks by calling (570) 459-3890.
