Two people were injured, including a Schuylkill County man, after a shot was fired in a bar in Berks County over the weekend.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, on Sunday, November 12th, 2023, just after 1:00am, troopers responded to Pappy T's Pub and Lounge on Industrial Road in Tilden Township, Berks County, for a report of a shooting.
Through an investigation, police determined that Thomas J. Fronina, 37, of Leesport, removed a .380 caliber pistol from his pocket to show another person at the bar and discharged a single round towards the floor.
The shot struck a 43-year-old woman from Leesport and a fragment struck a 45-year-old man from Orwigsburg. The female sustained injuries requiring her to be transported to an area hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
Fronina was charged with assault, recklessly endangering another person, and discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Tonya Butler and released on $20,000 unsecured bail.
