The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 5 has announced upcoming road work on Interstate 81 in the Delano and Kline Townships in Schuylkill County.
The work will be performed by PennDOT Maintenance Forces and is scheduled to begin on January 30th, 2024.
For the northbound lane, crack sealing will be performed between Exit 134 (Delano) and the Luzerne County Line. This work will result in a lane restriction, with the restriction in effect from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. The project is expected to be completed by February 1st, 2024.
In the southbound lane, other work will be performed between Exit 134 (Delano) and Exit 138 (PA 309). This work will also result in a lane restriction, with the restriction in effect from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on January 31st, 2024. The project is expected to be completed on the same day.
Motorists are advised to be aware of the lane restrictions and plan their travel accordingly. PennDOT reminds drivers to exercise caution and obey posted speed limits when traveling through work zones.
