Pottsville Woman Faces Charges for Allegedly Assaulting Boyfriend with Liquor Bottle and Kitchen Knife During Domestic Dispute

A Pottsville woman is facing charges after a domestic dispute in Pottsville late Monday.

According to Pottsville Police, on Monday, January 15th, 2024, just after 9:00pm, Ptlm. Anna Flail was dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of West Railroad Street for a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, Ptlm. Flail made contact with a 46-year-old man who had visible lacerations to his face, hand and head which were bleeding profusely. The victim reported his girlfriend, 29-year-old Brittany Fegeley, assaulted him.

The victim reported the dispute started over Fegeley confronting him about infidelity. He reported, Fegeley began punching him with a closed fist to his head and face. She continued to violently assault him by grabbing a Hennessy bottle glass bottle and striking him in the head and face multiple times causing lacerations above his left eye and head and contusions to his right eye and cheek.  He also said Fegeley continued to assault him with a belt and belt buckle striking him in his head and face. Lastly, when he attempted to leave the residence Fegeley tried stopping him and she slashed at him with a kitchen knife, causing the laceration to his right hand.

EMS was called to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

During an interview with Fegeley, she admitted an argument ensued between her and the boyfriend which became physical, however, she claimed he was the aggressor. Fegeley stated she attempted to remove him from the bedroom, but he refused.

Fegeley reported he punched her face and head with a closed fist and proceeded to choke her causing her to become unconscious and vomit.

When Fegeley regained consciousness, she discovered the boyfriend gathering his belongings. Instead of leaving, Fegeley was confrontational with him at which time he reportedly grabbed her by the neck a second time at which time she struck him with the Hennessy bottle.

Ptlm. Flail said there were no injuries consistent with Fegeley's account of being struck in the face. There was faint redness to Fegeley's neck.

Fegely was evaluated at the Lehigh Valley Health Network and the physician indicated there was no evidence that Fegeley was strangled, which was inconsistent with her account.

Ptlm. Flail completed a criminal complaint for Fegeley charging her withAggravated Assaulted, Aggravated Assault with deadly weapon, Simple Assault, Pursuant to Domestic Violence, and Harassment.

Fegeley was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Reiley early Tuesday morning setting bail at $20,000 straight cash.

Fegeley posted bail later in the day on Tuesday.

She will answer to the above charges on January 29th, 2024, before Judge Reiley.
