Frackville Police Assist FBI in Apprehending Suspect Wanted in Connection with Musikfest Shooting


Frackville Police Department cooperated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in apprehending an individual wanted in connection with the Musikfest shooting from 2022. 

The operation took place in the parking lot of Turkey Hill Minit Market located at 101 S. Lehigh Ave.

At approximately 5:00 PM, Frackville Borough Police conducted a vehicle stop on a black Acura, identified as being associated with the wanted individual. T

he operator of the vehicle was confirmed to be the target of the apprehension, identified as 22-year-old Jathaniel Lopez, a resident of Frackville.

Lopez had been sought under a warrant issued in connection to firearm charges originating from an incident dating back to the 2022 Musikfest Festival in Bethlehem, PA.

Upon interception, Lopez cooperated with authorities, and was taken into custody without incident.

As of this posting, further details on the charges against Lopez were not available.

According to LehighValleyNews.com, Lopez was shot by Joshua Nathanial Colon on August 13th, 2022 at the annual summer music festival, Musikfest, in Bethlehem.  The shooting was reported to be gang related.  Colon was charged in January 2024 with aggravated assault, receiving stolen property, and weapons offenses.  He was taken into custody back in January.

Details on the charges against Lopez were not available as of this posting.
