Orwigsburg Man Faces Sexual Assault, Rape Charges in East Brunswick Township


An Orwigsburg man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison for an alleged rape of a woman in East Brunswick Township.
According to court papers filed by the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the incident began Thursday evening at the victim's home.

The victim said that when she returned home from work, Hakeem Lee, 35, of Orwigsburg forced her inside her house and began to question her about who she was sleeping with. Lee reportedly ripped off her clothes and raped her.

The victim said she tried to escape and yell for help, but Lee would cover her mouth and didn't allow her to use the bathroom or her cell phone.

Once Lee was fell asleep, the victim took her cell phone and fled the home.

The victim called police who arrived and found Lee sleeping in the bedroom and took him into custody.

Troopers charged Lee with multiple accounts of felony aggravated assault without consent and forcible compulsion, rape, sexual assault, and strangulation, along with misdemeanor indecent assault, loitering and prowling at night, and false imprisonment.

He was arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bail.

Lee remains locked up awaiting a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Andrew Serina scheduled for April 9th, 2024.
