Pottsville Man Faces Charges After Domestic Altercation

A Pottsville man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after a domestic altercation late Friday.

According to Pottsville Police, on March 8th, 2024, around 10:30pm, Pottsville Bureau of Police were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Fairview St for a report of a Domestic Disturbance. 

During the investigation police found that there had been a verbal and physical altercation between a 27-year-old female of Pottsville and her boyfriend, Dezmond Reams, 31, of Pottsville. 

During the altercation Reams allegedly grabbed the female victim by the throat, causing her to have difficulty breathing and redness to her neck. 

Based on the investigation Reams was charged with Strangulation (F2), Simple Assault (M2) and Harassment (S). 

Reams had his Preliminary Arraignment before on-call Magisterial District Judge Dave Plachko who set bail at $25,000 straight cash. 

Reams was unable to post bail and was committed to Schuylkill County Prison.
