St. Clair Man Faces Charges After Alleged Domestic Assault in Pottsville

A St. Clair man is facing charges for an alleged domestic assault in Pottsville.

According to Pottsville Police, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 12:00pm, Police responded to 36 Barefield Drive for a report of a domestic between the persons inside.

Sgt. Englert made contact with resident/victim at the front door.

Sgt. Englert observed blood on her left pinky finger, and she acknowledged she and her boyfriend, Tyler Howells, 31, of Saint Clair, being in an argument that turned physical.

The victim said they were arguing in the bedroom which escalated to Howells yelling at her, throwing her clothing from the dresser drawers, pulling her purse from her shoulder (causing the abrasion/blood on her left pinky) striking her across the face with a pillow, and throwing a lighter at her which struck her about the right hand and caused pain and swelling about her right thumb.

The victim further reports that Howells purposely damaged her iPhone.

Based upon the investigation, Sgt. Englert charged Howells with Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief and harassment.

Howell's was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley on Wednesday afternoon and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
