Truck Driver Transported After Snapping Utility Poles in Butler Township Crash

A truck driver was transported to the hospital after a crash Saturday morning in Butler Township.

The crash occurred just after 9:00am on Route 61 in the area of 932 Fountain Street when a truck struck a wall then struck a utility pole in front of the address.

The truck continued through a neighboring yard for approximately 100 feet before coming to a stop.

The crash snapped two utility poles and brought wires down across Route 61 blocking the highway.  The truck sustained disabling damage.

Fire companies responded and provided traffic control before PennDOT closed the highway.

The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital via Washington Ambulance with unknown injuries.

As of 2:00pm, Saturday, the roadway was open, but PPL was still at the scene making repairs to the poles and the lines.
