On Monday, the Pennsylvania Game Commission will be conducting a controlled burn near the in southern Schuylkill County.
The Game Commission will be a prescribed fire on 23 acres of State Game Lands 211 in West Brunswick Township east of Route 895 and Route 61, and south of Hawk Mountain Road
Smoke will be visible on the Blue Mountain near New Ringgold, Deer Lake, Auburn, Hamburg, and Kempton between 10:00am and 8:30pm.
The purpose of the burn is to maintain the oak woodland habitat in the area and to increase food availability for wildlife.
