The Pottsville Bureau of Police announced the arrest of a man wanted in connection with the April 29 robbery of the Hong Kong Buffet located in the city.
According to police, officers were on routine patrol on May 17 when they observed a man matching the description of the robbery suspect. Officers exited their patrol vehicles to approach the individual, who was later identified as 24-year-old Nigel Farrod Jackson of Brooklyn, New York.
During an initial conversation about his identity, Jackson allegedlyd fled on foot. Officers pursued him for several blocks before apprehending him.
Following his arrest, Jackson was positively identified by the victim of the Hong Kong Buffet robbery. He was subsequently arraigned before the on-call Magistrate on multiple charges, including robbery and theft by unlawful taking. Additionally, Jackson faces charges of fleeing on foot and providing false identification to law enforcement.
Jackson was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 straight cash bail on the robbery charges.
Jackson remains locked up waiting for a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 26th, 2025.
