The Mahanoy City Elks Lodge #695 celebrated academic excellence on Thursday, May 15, 2025, during its 51st Annual Student of the Year Banquet, recognizing exceptional students from Mahanoy Area for their achievements.
This year’s honorees included eighth-grade students Cameron Smith and Emma Manley, along with high school seniors Alexis Chilinskas and William Mayberry. Each student was presented with a Certificate of Recognition and a monetary gift as a token of appreciation for their dedication and hard work.
The event was organized and led by Linda Fetter, Past Exalted Ruler (PER) and Committee Chair, and was attended by school and Elks Lodge officials. Also pictured were Russel Zimmerman, PER and current Exalted Ruler; Tabitha Walsh, Assistant Principal; Dr. Joie Green, Superintendent; and Matthew Giannelli, High School Principal.
William Mayberry, one of the senior winners, was not present for the photo.
