Minersville Mayor Honors 2024–2025 Student-Athletes of the Year

Two standout student-athletes from Minersville Area Jr/Sr High School were recognized for their achievements both on and off the field during a special presentation by Minersville Mayor Sean Palmer.

Mayor Palmer awarded the 2024–2025 Mayoral Athletes of the Year honors to Easton Schultz and Payton Frantz, praising them as exemplary role models and leaders in the school community.

"I had the honor last night to present the 2024–2025 Minersville Area School District Mayoral Athletes of the Year Award to two fine young student-athletes," Palmer said in a statement. "Both Easton and Payton epitomize what it means to be a well-rounded student-athlete and leaders both on and off the field."

The mayor began sponsoring the annual award last year, aiming to recognize one male and one female athlete who demonstrate excellence in several areas: commitment, leadership, sportsmanship, academic achievement, community service, and participation in multiple sports.

Each recipient receives a commemorative plaque, and their names are engraved on a perpetual trophy displayed at Minersville Area Jr/Sr High School.

"They not only excel in sports, but embody the highest ideals of athleticism, character, and leadership," Palmer said. "It was an honor to be able to present this award to them."

The mayor also expressed his gratitude to the school district for supporting the award and said he hopes the tradition continues long into the future.
