Gerald D. Lawell, Jr., 67, of Orwigsburg, passed away Friday, May 23rd, at Geisinger St. Luke's Orwigsburg.

Jerry was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on April 25, 1958, a son of the late Shirley M. (Bressler) and Gerald D. Lawell, Sr.

He was the husband of Jill (Bair) Lawell.They were married December 23rd, 2006.

Jerry graduated from Nativity High School in 1976 and then joined the US Marine Corps.

In addition to Jill, his wife, Jerry is survived by two daughters, Amanda Lawell & Jessica Lawell
two sons Brian Lawell and Gerald Lawell III.  He is also survived by two sisters, Teresa Moran, Kathleen Kreiser a brother, Joseph Lawell; grandchildren Star Wilson, Olivia Bolinski, Jesse James Bolinsky, Simora Lawell, and also great grandchildren Noah Daniel Wilson and Owen Lewis Wilson.

He was preceded in death by a son Jeremy Lawell and a brother James Lawell.

Services are private at the convenience of family.

Margaret M. Smith
, Centre St., 72 of Ashland, passed away May 16, 2025, at the Shamokin Geisinger Community Hospital, Coal Township. Born in Lexington Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Smith) Tudor. She had various employment positions, lastly working as a farm worker until her retirement. Margaret was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors:

Daughter: Paula Vanvorst, Ashland

Son: David Smith and his wife Chantilly, Ashland

Sister: Sherry Tudor, Covington, Kentucky

Nieces, Fifteen Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Margaret’s Life, June 14, 2025, at 2 PM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre Street, Ashland. Officiating will be Pastor Joshua Hughes. A calling hour for friends and family will begin at 1 PM until serviced time. Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome to leave condolences. The Richard W. Anna Mae Bondura
, age 91, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 while residing at Providence Place in Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on July 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Clara (Oldt) Bower.

Anna graduated from Pottsville High School. She worked as a waitress at Sun Ray Restaurant and then for Angelucci's Sub Shop, where she made many friends. She was well known for her home-made candy and enjoyed her casino trips with her family and her friends Jean, Mike Florence, Celie, Mary and John.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George Bondura, a son George E Bondura Sr., two sisters: Clare Snyder and Betty Hummel, and two brothers: Samuel and Francis Bower.

Anna is survived by three sons: David R, Bondura and his wife Karen, Thomas J. Bondura and his wife Phyllis, and Michael S. Bondura; a daughter Beth A. Gavalis and her husband Joseph; nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank everyone at Providence Place and Advantage Hospice for their care and friendship.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Stephen's Chapel, Port Carbon at 10:30AM on Monday, June 2nd, with Rev. Edward Connolly officiating

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Monday morning from 8:30-10AM at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon.

Interment will be held in the Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
