Burglary Suspect Threatened Homeowner with Hammer in Shenandoah



A Port Carbon woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a home and threatening a Shenandoah resident with a hammer during a burglary incident on Thursday evening.

According to Shenandoah Police, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West Lloyd Street around 5:05 PM on June 12, 2025, for a reported burglary in progress.

Police say 35-year-old Justine Myro of Port Carbon unlawfully entered the kitchen area of a residence. When the female homeowner confronted Myro, she fled outside but then forcibly entered a nearby garage on the property.

The male homeowner went to the garage to remove Myro, at which point she allegedly charged at him while holding a hammer. The homeowner was able to restrain her until police arrived on the scene.

Upon taking Myro into custody, officers discovered she was also in possession of fentanyl.

As a result of the incident, Myro was charged with two felony counts of Criminal Trespass, felony Aggravated Assault, misdemeanor counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Simple Assault, as well as misdemeanor drug offenses.

She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer and committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.

No injuries were reported.
