At the June 19 meeting of the Pine Grove Area School District Board of Directors, Lehman’s intention to step away from the position was formally recognized. The board expressed gratitude for Lehman’s decades of service and his lasting impact on the school’s baseball program.
“We would like to thank and congratulate Coach Keith Lehman on his successful career as Head Baseball Coach for the past 25 years,” the board said in a statement. “We are saddened that he has chosen not to return next season, but we are grateful for his impact as a coach, role model, and mentor for so many young athletes.”
Under Lehman’s leadership, his teams compiled a overall record of 375 wins against 180 losses. Over his tenure, the program captured seven Schuylkill League Division titles, two Schuylkill League championships, six District XI championships, and made one appearance in the state finals.
With the position now vacant, the district has announced it will begin the search for a new head baseball coach immediately. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a letter of interest and a resume to Brittney Harner, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, at bharner@pgasd.com.
