No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon at a busy intersection in Frackville.
According to the Frackville Borough Police Department, officers were dispatched around 12:20 PM to the intersection of Lehigh Avenue and Chestnut Street for a reported motor vehicle accident involving possible injuries and entrapment.
Police say the crash occurred when Victor Yanuskiewicz, 76, of Frackville, was driving a Subaru Legacy west on Chestnut Street. Investigators determined that Yanuskiewicz failed to stop at the stop sign at Lehigh Avenue and entered the intersection, where his vehicle collided with a northbound Mack Granite tri-axle dump truck driven by Tyler Shannon, 33, of Minersville.
Yanuskiewicz's vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Hoffman’s Towing. Fortunately, neither driver was injured as a result of the crash.
Frackville Police were assisted at the scene by Shenandoah Police, the Frackville Fire Department, and Frackville EMS.
