Margaret E Straub, age 85, formerly of Klingerstown, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Green Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville.


She was born on Wednesday, August 16, 1939, in Lavelle, a daughter of the late William Carl and the late Mabel (Kehler) Carl.

She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown.

Margaret loved gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her husband, Roy R Straub passed away in 2013. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Straub and by eleven siblings.

She is survived by a son, Bill (Sue) Straub of Valley View; two daughters, Cindy L (George) Fry of Klingerstown and Julie Weaver of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a great great grandson; sister, Carol Schaeffer of Tremont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Pat Wirick officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Klingerstown.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc., Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

Laura J. Flickinger
, 79, of Shenandoah, formerly a Frackville resident, passed away June 26, 2025, peacefully at the Schuylkill Center Nursing Home, Pottsville. Born in Ashland, December 11, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Jennie (Kernosky) Wagner. Laura was a graduate of the former Frackville High School, class of 1966. She attended Zion’s Lutheran Church, Frackville. Preceding her in death was a son Robert Stine, a daughter Doreen Jessen, brothers; Kenneth, James, Paul, and Robert Wagner, sisters; Rosalie Wagner, Helen Kochol, Shirley Gunderman, Jean Slackus, also a grandson, Grayden Flickinger.

Survivors

Son: Norman Flickinger and his wife Candy, Lavelle

Brother: William Wagner, Frackville

10 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews.

She deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Laura’s Life, Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St. Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Dana Heckman Beil, pastor the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland. Visitation in the funeral home will begin 9 AM until the 11 AM service.
