Driver Crashes into Utility Poles in Butler Township

No injuries were reported Saturday evening after a pickup truck crashed into multiple utility poles, knocking down wires.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado lost control near the bottom of the “two-miler” stretch on the Fountain Spring side of Route 61 in Butler Township. Authorities said the truck initially struck one pole, causing minor damage, before hitting a second pole and destroying it.

The collision brought down power lines that stretched across both lanes of the highway. Emergency personnel closed one lane to traffic and restricted passage for taller vehicles until the hazard could be cleared.

PPL crews responded to replace the damaged pole, and the roadway remained partially closed for several hours during the repairs.

The driver was not injured in the crash. Police have not announced whether any charges will be filed.

Butler Township Police and the Friendship Fire Company of Englewood responded to the scene.
