According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred when a 2017 RAM truck, driven by 46-year-old Lucas Forker of Tresckow, traveling south on SR 309, near the Interstate 81 ramp in Kline Township, inexplicably crossed the median and both northbound lanes, colliding head-on with a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 51-year-old Thairen Finley of Lansford.
Finley, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Schuylkill County Coroners Office.
Forker sustained suspected serious injuries and was transported by McAdoo EMS and Lehighton Ambulance Association to Lehigh Valley Hazleton, later transferred to Cedar Crest Hospital.
Multiple agencies, including McAdoo Fire and EMS, Hometown Fire, Lehighton ALS, McAdoo Police, and Hazle Township Fire, responded to the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with no charges or primary violations listed in the preliminary report.
