80-Year-Old Man Killed in Crash at Route 309 and 895 in West Penn Township


Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Tuesday evening at the intersection of State Route 309 and Route 895 in West Penn Township, Schuylkill County.
According to the Carbon County Coroner’s Office, an 80-year-old male died following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection. The crash occurred on Tuesday July 15, 2025. The man, who was the driver of one of the vehicles involved, was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Carbon Campus, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 8:13 p.m.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin. The Carbon County Coroner’s Office says his name will be released once the family has been notified and given time to grieve privately.

The West Penn Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police Crash Reconstruction Team are assisting in the investigation, which remains ongoing.
