Firefighters Contain Commercial Building Fire in Butler Township

Fire crews from multiple communities responded to a commercial building fire Friday afternoon at Kennedy Concrete on Dutchtown Road.

The call came in around 12:20 p.m. for reports of a working fire inside one of the buildings at 570 Dutchtown Road, near Gordon. Upon arrival, first responders confirmed smoke and flames inside the structure.

Fire companies from Englewood, Gordon, Ashland, Frackville, Lavelle, and Kulpmont assisted at the scene. The fire was brought under control within approximately 30 minutes.

Ashland's Washington Ambulance was also on scene.

Early reports from Ashland Police, who were among the first to arrive, indicated that the fire may have been sparked by welding equipment. The official cause remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
