Mike Lisowski, known to fans as “The Minersville Missile,” lived up to his moniker Friday night at Big Diamond Speedway, charging to victory in the Quandel Concrete 358 Modified feature and ending a nearly five-year winless streak.
Lisowski, who last visited Victory Lane in October 2020, showcased precision driving on the 3/8-mile dirt oval. Starting sixth, he broke into the top five by lap four, methodically picking off the competition. He passed Heath Metzger, battled past Ken Eckert Jr. for third, and then overtook Wayne Witmer for second just before the halfway mark.
A caution for Mike Burrows bunched the field, putting Lisowski alongside leader Dan Hineline on the restart. From there, the Minersville driver rocketed into the lead and held off late charges from Duane Howard and Brett Kressley through multiple restarts.
“It feels great, and it’s been a while,” Lisowski said in victory lane. “We’ve had a really good car the last couple of years, but things just didn’t work out. Tonight, everything went perfect. I knew if I hit my marks and stayed in clean air, we’d be tough to beat.”
Kressley settled for second, Rick Laubach rallied for third, Howard took fourth, and Logan Watt rounded out the top five.
The night also brought a shake-up in the 358 Modified points standings. Louden Reimert, the leader entering the night, failed to qualify due to a broken right rear hub in the consolation race. Jeff Strunk’s seventh-place finish vaulted him into the points lead over Mike Gular.
Danner Finally Breaks Through in USAC East Coast Sprints
In the IMT Innovative Machining Technology USAC East Coast Sprint Cars’ lone 2025 appearance at Big Diamond, Allentown’s Briggs Danner earned his first career win at the track.
Starting sixth, Danner surged to the front by lap five, passing pole-sitter Billy Ney on a restart. Point leader Steven Drevicki closed in late, but Danner held his ground to take the checkered. Kenny Miller III finished third, followed by Tommy Kunsman Jr. and Chris Allen.
Reichert Adds to Roadrunner Legacy
New Ringgold veteran Mike Reichert claimed his 18th career Red White and Blue Autos Inc. Roadrunner feature win. He took the lead from Jim Kost on lap five and fended off a determined Kris Ney to the finish. Alex Schoffstall placed third, maintaining a narrow points lead with three races left.
Jones Doubles Up in Legends
In East Coast Legends Series action, Tanner Jones of Bridgewater, N.J., repeated his win from last month. Driving the Devin Freise No. 12, Jones led from start to finish in a nonstop 20-lapper, finishing a straightaway ahead of Colton Freise.
