Downtown Pottsville was filled with classic cars, live music, and television nostalgia on Saturday as large crowds attended the annual Great Pottsville Car Show.
The event, held along Laurel Boulevard with festivities centered at the Humane Fire Company, drew hundreds of spectators and vehicle enthusiasts from across the region. Attendees came not only to view the wide variety of cars, trucks, fire trucks, and specialty vehicles on display, but also to meet special guests from the hit television series The Dukes of Hazzard.
Tom Wopat, Jeff Altman, and Catherine Bach greeted fans, signed autographs, and posed for photographs throughout the afternoon. Their appearance proved to be one of the event’s biggest draws, with long lines forming well before their scheduled times. Wopat and Altman had also appeared the previous evening at Big Diamond Speedway.
Live entertainment was provided by the band Solid Gold.
Trophies were awarded in multiple categories, including Mayor’s Choice, Sponsor’s Choice, Pottsville Police Choice, Most Likely to Win a Police Chase, Best Muscle Car, Best Street Rod/Hot Rod, Best Motorcycle, Best Original Appearing, and Farthest Traveled, among others.
Saturday's event was hosted by the Pottsville Fire Co. #1.
