Pennsylvania State Police Provide Update on Crash Involving Ryan Township Ambulance

A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Morea Road and Mahanoy City Road in Mahanoy Township left multiple individuals injured last Wednesday afternoon, according to a public release by Pennsylvania State Police in Frackville.

The crash occurred around 2:55 p.m., on July 30th, 2025, when a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, traveling south on Mahanoy City Road, entered the intersection without properly clearing the stop, and was struck by an eastbound 1999 Ford F-350, a Ryan Township Ambulance, traveling on Morea Road.

After the collision, the Chevrolet rotated 180 degrees and came to a rest off the roadway, facing northeast. The ambulance continued approximately 300 feet before hitting the front porch of a residence. The driver of the Ford was able to bring his vehicle to a stop facing west and then went to assist the occupants of the other vehicle.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 32-year-old Eunice Gutierrez Henriquez of Shenandoah, along with two of her passengers—Dahiana Cordero Aries and an unidentified female juvenile—were transported for medical treatment.

Gutierrez and Aries were taken to Lehigh Valley East Hospital and Reading Hospital, respectively.

Another passenger, identified as Jose Gutierrez, was uninjured. All occupants were reported to have been properly restrained, including the child, who was secured in a front-facing car seat.

The driver of the ambulance, identified as Michael Mistishen of Barnesville, was not injured and remained on the scene to provide aid.

Emergency crews from Frackville Community Ambulance, Shenandoah EMS, and Minersville EMS responded, along with members of the Citizens Fire Company and West End Fire Company, who assisted with traffic control and extrication. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Gutierrez Henriquez, was cited for obedience to Traffic Control Devices.
