State Police Investigating Arson in New Philadelphia


NEW PHILADELPHIA - Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville are investigating an arson that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 2, 2025, in New Philadelphia Borough.
Troopers responded to a residence on Clay Street at approximately 1:19 a.m. after reports of a possible arson-related fire. According to investigators, a gas can was set on fire on the rear porch of the home, causing the porch to become engulfed in flames.

Nearby surveillance footage captured a white male fleeing from the backyard immediately after the fire was ignited. The victim, a 60-year-old man from New Philadelphia, was not reported injured.
