Authorities have announced an arrest in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Kline Township near McAdoo.
According to police, the incident happened around 4:40 p.m. at JF Enterprises, located at 951 Mile Hill Road, when the proprietor of the business was struck in the head. The suspect allegedly removed a firearm and cash from the victim’s pockets before fleeing into a wooded area north of the business.
The suspect, identified as Chase Lynn Abbitt, 21, of California, was taken into custody earlier Thursday afternoon by Butler Township Police in Luzerne County. Abbitt is currently being arraigned on charges of receiving stolen property and drug possession in Luzerne County.
According to Kline Township Police Cpl. Justin Farley, additional charges related to Thursday’s robbery are expected to be filed Friday morning.
