The Pottsville Business Association announced his passing on Wednesday morning.
Clews, known as “12 Volt Dave,” made his mark in the city as the owner of 12 Volt Dave’s Audio, a popular car audio shop in Pottsville. The business later changed hands and is now known as Auto Acoustix.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to serve as President of the Pottsville Business Association, where he worked to support small businesses and promote economic growth in the city.
Clews was elected Mayor of Pottsville and brought a business-minded perspective to city government, working to strengthen ties between local officials and residents.
He announced his resignation effective October 14, 2023, citing ongoing health challenges.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
