According to troopers, the crash happened around 9:55 a.m. on October 16th, 2025, when a white tractor-trailer, pulling a grain trailer marked with “VP Transportation,” was traveling eastbound on East Mahanoy Avenue, just west of Slate Run Road. The truck reportedly veered out of its lane and struck two legally parked vehicles — a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2018 Chevrolet.
Both vehicles sustained significant functional damage on their driver’s sides. A passenger in one of the vehicles was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the incident.
Police say the tractor-trailer fled the scene immediately after the collision, continuing east on East Mahanoy Avenue toward Shenandoah. Witnesses were unable to provide a registration or DOT number, but investigators confirmed the truck bore the name “VP Transportation” on both the tractor and the trailer.
State Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver involved to contact PSP Frackville at (570) 874-5300.
