A family is being assisted by the American Red Cross after a small fire Saturday evening in Mahanoy City.
Around 8:45pm, Saturday, emergency personnel were dispatched to 414 West Centre Street in the borough for a report of a house fire.
Firefighters arrived advised of a working fire after a small exterior fire was in the rear of the home of the property.
The fire was brought under control within several minutes and firefighters were clearing the scene within the hour.
The American Red Cross was called to assist a family of two adults and four children due to there being no power in the home due to the fire.
