The lodge recently presented a $6,000 check to Schuylkill Community Action, which has distributed the funds among food pantries serving Mahanoy City, Shenandoah, and Ringtown.
The donation was made possible through a Beacon Grant from the Elks National Foundation (ENF), the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. ENF supports programs that strengthen communities nationwide, including scholarships, veterans initiatives, youth activities, and local grant funding.
Schuylkill Community Action directed the grant dollars to food pantries within the lodge’s district, ensuring vital supplies and support reach families facing food insecurity as the holiday season approaches.
