Route 61 Traffic Shift Coming Next Week as Reconstruction Project Moves Forward

Drivers traveling through the Route 61 Reconstruction Project area between Frackville and St. Clair will see a major traffic shift beginning Monday, December 2, 2025.
According to PennDOT, the project contractor will move southbound traffic into the designated northbound lane, creating a single-lane configuration in each direction. This traffic pattern will remain in place for the foreseeable future as crews begin the full reconstruction of the southbound lanes.
