The crash occurred at approximately 8:14 p.m. on December 11, 2025, on Ringtown Boulevard (State Route 924) at its intersection with Ringtown Boulevard.
State police said a 2024 Rivian R1S, an Amazon Delivery Vehicle, was traveling south on Ringtown Boulevard and attempted to make a left-hand turn when it failed to yield to a 2010 Subaru Forester which was traveling north on the roadway. As a result, both vehicles collided in the intersection.
The operator of Rivian R1S, Said Houssem, 25, of West Pittston, was not injured and declined medical treatment at the scene. The operator of Forester, Patricia A. Alshefski, 69, of Zion Grove, sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported by Shenandoah Community Ambulance Association to Lehigh Valley East Hospital–Pottsville for evaluation. An 18-year-old passenger in the Forester was not injured.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage to their front engine compartments and were towed from the scene.
State police reported that Said Houssem was cited for failure to yield while approaching or entering an intersection.
