Lourdes Downs North Schuylkill 49-32 in Schuylkill League Semifinals

After trailing early, Our Lady of Lourdes seized control in the middle quarters and pulled away for a 49-32 victory over North Schuylkill in the Schuylkill League Girls’ Basketball Semifinals at Martz Hall.
North Schuylkill came out strong, using balanced scoring and sharp perimeter shooting to grab a 14-12 lead after one quarter. The Lady Spartans extended that advantage to 24-22 at halftime behind contributions from Gianna Capone, Jadelin Stitzer, and Monica Selgrade.

But Lourdes flipped the momentum coming out of the locker room.

The Red Raiders dominated the third quarter, outscoring North Schuylkill 15-5 to take control of the game. Lourdes’ size inside and rebounding advantage began to show, with Hannah Lokitis and Sophia Karlovich anchoring the paint on both ends of the floor.

Lokitis led all scorers with 17 points, going 5-for-6 from the free throw line, while Karlovich added 10 points. Kylla Sandri chipped in 12 points, including a three-pointer.

North Schuylkill struggled offensively in the second half, managing just eight total points over the final two quarters. Capone led the Lady Spartans with eight points, while Urbanowicz knocked down a pair of three-pointers.

Lourdes advances to the Schuylkill League Championship on Friday night to face the Schuylkill Haven Lady Canes.  The game starts at 6:00pm.
