Mahanoy Area came out firing early, riding hot shooting from Felicia Bro and Lilly Carl to build a 19-14 lead after one quarter. Carl knocked down multiple shots from beyond the arc, while Bro attacked inside to keep Haven on its heels.
But the Hurricanes responded with a dominant second quarter.
Behind steady play from Audrey Hutchinson, Kylie Siket, and Mckenna Runkle, Schuylkill Haven went on a 17-2 run in the period to take control. Haven’s defense tightened, limiting Mahanoy to just one field goal in the quarter while converting at the foul line and from three-point range on the other end.
Haven carried a 31-21 halftime lead and never let the Golden Bears back within striking distance.
Siket caught fire from deep with four three-pointers, while Hutchinson filled the stat sheet with a game-high 19 points. Runkle added 13 points, including 5-for-6 at the line, and Ava Terefenco chipped in nine.
For Mahanoy Area, Bro paced the Bears with 15 points and Carl added 12, including four triples, but the early momentum faded as Haven controlled the tempo in the second half.
Schuylkill Haven advances to the Schuylkill League championship game at Martz Hall to face Lourdes Regional at 6:00pm.
