A month-long investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in Schuylkill Haven Borough has resulted in the arrest of a 48-year-old man and the seizure of illegal drugs from a borough residence.
According to the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office, the investigation began in January 2026 and involved the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force, Pennsylvania State Police Troop L—Reading Vice/Narcotics Unit, and the Schuylkill Haven Borough Police Department.
Authorities identified Corey VanEtten, 48, as a suspected distributor of methamphetamine operating within Schuylkill Haven.
On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, investigators obtained a court-authorized search warrant for 28 Parkway in Schuylkill Haven Borough. The warrant was executed the following day by members of the participating law enforcement agencies.
VanEtten was detained upon entry to the residence, along with two other occupants. Officials reported that the home was found to be in deplorable condition at the time of the search.
During the search, officers located a quantity of methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities said VanEtten was interviewed and admitted to selling methamphetamine from the residence.
He was taken into custody and arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarentelli. Bail was set at $75,000 straight, and VanEtten was committed to Schuylkill County Prison.
VanEtten faces the following charges:
- Possession With Intent to Deliver (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Psilocybin Mushrooms)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Authorities said additional narcotics charges are expected to be filed at a later date against another male who was present inside the residence at the time of the search.
