Florence L. Moyer
, 88, of Schuylkill Haven passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

Born, March 4, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George and Alretta Foose.

Florence attended Schuylkill Haven High School.

She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Schuylkill Haven. Florence was a member of Shenandoah Senior Citizens and was a past member of Schuylkill Hose #2 – Women’s Auxiliary.

Florence ran a daycare from her home for many decades.

Florence enjoyed casino gambling, playing cards, shopping, spending time with her family and playing scratch-offs. She was also a devoted E;lvis fan.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lee D. Moyer who passed away in 2024. Florence was the last of her eight siblings.

Florence is survived by her children; Deb Bensinger of Schuylkill Haven, Janet Sattizahn of Schuylkill Haven, Robert Moyer husband to Traci of Pine Grove, Joan Hill of Friedensburg, Brenda Moyer of Ravine, and Nancy Mack wife of Laine Jr. of Tremont. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Blake, Glenn, Erica, Janel, Jennifer, Rebecca, Cody, Brandi, Thomas, Paige, Amanda, Heather, and Kyle along with 22 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 8th at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven at 2:00 P.M. Family and friends are welcome from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Donald J. Navit
, 89, a longtime resident of Frackville, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, February 22, 2026.

Born in Kulpmont on November 21, 1936, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Brazinsky) and John Navit, and stepson of the late Edward Jones. Don was a graduate of the former Ringtown High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he earned several marksmanship awards.

A hardworking and dedicated businessman, Don owned and operated Donald J. Navit Contracting Company and Daisy Auto Parts in Frackville for many years. He later served as a project manager with the Schuylkill County Housing Authority until his retirement. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Frackville.

Don found joy in caring for his home and automobiles, and he was known for his love of cooking and baking. An avid reader, he especially enjoyed The New York Times crossword puzzles. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also enjoyed watching NASCAR.

Above all, Don cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Margie (Hetherington) Navit; his two sons, Rev. Zachary W. Navit and Donald E. Navit; and his cherished grandchildren, Arthur Navit and Amelia Navit, who lovingly knew him as "Pop."

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, which will be celebrated by his son, Rev. Zachary W. Navit, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 7 South Broad Mountain Avenue, Frackville, on Tuesday, March 3, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church, prior to Mass.

Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Ringtown.

In lieu of flowers, please consider Mass cards, or memorial donations made to the Missionaries of Charity, 536 West South Street, Mahanoy City, PA 17948, or the Little Sisters of the Poor, Holy Family Home, 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143. May he rest in peace.

William “Bill” Samelko
, 83, of Pine Grove, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026.

Born in Frackville, Pennsylvania on April 1,1942, he was the son of the late Adam and Minnie (Hummel) Samelko. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend; he lived a life filled with service, adventure, and an enduring love for the great outdoors.

Bill developed an early appreciation for nature, spending countless hours exploring forests, streams, and trails around the Frackville area. He was most at home in the woods. His passion for history, particularly the settling of America, led him to become an avid reader, always eager to share stories of the pioneers and frontiers people who shaped the nation and of local historical folklore.

Bill graduated from Frackville High School then enrolled in the Army in 1959 at seventeen years old. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of E9 Command Sergeant Major. His leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers defined his decades-long military career until his retirement in 2002. He carried this same sense of duty and integrity into every aspect of his life, earning the respect of all who knew him.

In retirement, Bill found joy in gardening and immersing himself in historical literature. He also devoted himself to caring for his wife of 38 years, BeAnne, before her passing in 2010, exemplifying his deep love and steadfast commitment to family. Whether sharing tales at the dinner table, guiding his grandson on his first fishing adventure, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the wilderness, he left behind a legacy of curiosity, resilience, and love for the land.

Bill was greeted in Heaven by his wife Beatrice (BeAnne) Wychulis-Samelko.

He is survived by his daughter Erin Samelko Aungst, wife of Andrew, and grandson Aidan, Pine Grove. Brothers Adam Samelko (Lititz, Pa) husband to Carol Samelko and James “Sam” Samelko (Ashland, Pa), nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation and viewing that will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, Pa where family and friends will gather to honor his memory. Bill will be laid to rest with military honors at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Those wishing to attend the burial should meet for a procession at 11:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Schuylkill County Conservation District or the Schuylkill County Historical Society, reflecting his lifelong love for nature and history.

Though he has left this world, Bill’s spirit will forever roam the landscapes he cherished, carried on in the stories he loved and the memories he created. May his memory be a blessing.
