Geisinger will open a new ConvenientCare clinic in Schuylkill County on April 1, expanding access to walk-in medical services for residents in the area.
The new clinic will be located inside Geisinger’s Orwigsburg office building at 300 Hollywood Blvd. The ConvenientCare site will be staffed by two certified registered nurse practitioners (CRNPs) along with licensed medical staff. Providers will treat both adults and children ages 1 and older.
Hours for the new clinic will be:
- Weekdays: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Weekends: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
ConvenientCare clinics offer walk-in urgent care services without the need for an appointment, providing an option for patients who need treatment more quickly than a routine primary care visit. Officials note that ConvenientCare visits are not intended to replace a patient’s primary care provider.
The clinic will treat a variety of non-life-threatening conditions, including:
- Allergies
- Cuts requiring stitches
- Insect bites and tick removal
- Ear, urinary and other infections
- Skin rashes
- Sprains and strains
In addition to the new urgent care clinic, Geisinger’s Orwigsburg location also provides family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and laboratory services.
The new ConvenientCare marks Geisinger’s latest expansion in Schuylkill County. The health system has also announced plans to expand its cancer center in Pottsville as part of its continued investment in local healthcare services.
