Pennsylvania State Police Issue Missing Endangered Person Advisory for 86-Year-Old Last Seen in Schuylkill County


The Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating an endangered missing person who was last seen Saturday evening in Schuylkill County.

According to state police, Melvin Williams, 86, was reported missing from Jefferson Township, Berks County, on March 14, 2026.

Authorities say Williams was last seen around 5:00 p.m. Saturday in the area of Route 61 in Pottsville. Police believe he may be operating a black 2005 Pontiac Sunfire, a two-door vehicle bearing Pennsylvania registration PZP988B.

Williams is described as:
  • Age: 86
  • Height: 5’6”
  • Weight: 196 pounds
  • Hair: Bald/Gray
  • Eyes: Hazel
Police say Williams may be at special risk of harm or injury or may be confused, prompting the Missing Endangered Person Advisory.

Anyone who sees Williams or the vehicle, or who has information on his whereabouts, is urged to call 911 immediately or contact the Pennsylvania State Police Reading Barracks at 610-378-4011.

Authorities are asking residents in Schuylkill and surrounding counties to remain alert and report any possible sightings.
