Craig A. Sterner
, 61, of Tamaqua, passed away Wednesday, March 11th, at Edenbrook of Greenwood Hills, Pottsville.

Craig was born in Pottsville on October 28, 1964, a son of Barbara (Orwig) Sterner, of Port Clinton and the late John Sterner.

Married 11 years, he was the husband of Alanna G. (Hinger) Sterner.

Craig was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1982.

He was a member of St. John's Church of Port Clinton.

Craig was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed weekend getaways and spending time with family.

He was last employed by Engineered Materials Solutions, Hamburg as a machine operator.

In addition to his wife and mother, Craig is also survived by two sons: Aaron Sterner, Port Clinton, & Brett Sterner, husband of Cheyanne, Pine Grove, his step-daughter, Hayley Leslie, Tamaqua,two grandchildren: Jaxon, & Bryndle, three sisters: Sherri James, wife of Pat, Schuylkill Haven, Sue Correll, wife of Harold, Hamburg, & Kathy Barrow, wife of Andy, Orwigsburg, and several nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 20th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Interment will be privately held at the family’s convenience.

The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions in Craig’s name to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

JoAnn Myers, 89, of Tamaqua, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Pottsville. She was the beloved wife of Charles Myers, Sr. with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage this past June.

Born in Coaldale, JoAnn was a daughter of the late Walter, Sr., and Dorothy (Woodring) Haggerty. She was a 1954 graduate of Tamaqua High School and was employed as a secretary for U.S. Book Cover Co. before leaving the workforce to devote herself to raising her family. She later served the community as the town assessor for many years and was a devoted and longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Tamaqua.

JoAnn enjoyed camping with family and friends, often spending time at Locust Lake State Park. Above all, however, she treasured time spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren, who brought her great joy.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Charles; three daughters, Marcee Myers Addington and her husband Eric, Amy Jo Vowell, and JoAnn Brown and her husband Douglas; three sons, Charles Myers, Jr., Marc Myers and his wife Robin, and Michael Myers and his wife Michelle; sixteen grandchildren, Lincoln Addington, McKinley Addington, Kennedy Addington, Nicholas Vowell, Sarah Hahn, Rowan Myers, Rhys Myers, Sophie Nietz, Ian Myers, Nicholas Bunch, Nathan Myers, Noah Myers, Devin Brown, Jason Brown, Dylan Brown, and Madalyn Brown; fifteen great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Myers; one sister, Judy Warner and her husband James; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Myers, who passed away six days earlier on March 5, 2026; two sisters, Rose Marie Porambo and Mary Rita; and two brothers, Bruce Haggerty and Walter Haggerty, Jr.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in JoAnn’s name may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252.

Arthur Wink, Sr.
, 87, of Tamaqua, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Helen (Mullen) Wink, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage this past June.

Born in New Ringgold, Arthur was a son of the late Arthur and Carrie (Haas) Wink. A 1956 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the early 1960s. Following his military service, Arthur worked for many years as a union bricklayer and owned and operated a general masonry business.

Guided by a strong desire to help others and a remarkable work ethic, he contributed to many well-known buildings in the Tamaqua area, including work on the Tamaqua High Rise, Tamaqua Area High School and setting the cornerstone at Coaldale’s new hospital in the early 1970’s. Arthur enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time fishing, hunting, and tending to his garden. He was also a faithful member of New Life Assembly of God in Tamaqua. Arthur and his Wife Helen journeyed on many world mission trips focused on church building in several countries such as Isreal, Paraguay, Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, Bolivia, Columbia, Greece, and Ecuador and also stateside in Hawaii.

In addition to his wife, Helen, Arthur is survived by his children: Angela and her husband Sidney of Summerville, South Carolina; Christopher and his companion Aileen of Tamaqua; Jonathan and his wife Karen of Lake Hauto and stepson Michael and Hunter; Timothy, Sr. and his wife Joyce of Castle Rock, Colorado; and Arthur, Jr., and his wife Christine of Hometown. He was also the proud grandfather of Elizabeth, Megan Gifford and her husband Troy, Timothy, Jr., Daniel, Stephen, Madeline Clewis and her husband Austin, Sydney, Sebastian, Matthew, and his wife Shyloh, and Michael; and great-grandfather of Rowan, Aiden, Teagen, and Waverly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, with the Rev. Rob Tomes officiating. Interment with military honors in Sky-View Memorial Park will follow the service. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home.

Brenda Cupp – RN
, 67, of Harrisburg and a resident of Mountain View Nursing & Rehabilitation in Coal Township, went home with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital in Shenandoah on August 13, 1958, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Williams.

Brenda was a 1976 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School and a 1979 graduate of the Ashland Hospital School of Nursing. After school, she began her career at the Ashland Hospital where she spent most of her working life. Brenda was very proud of her nursing career and the lives she impacted over the years. Outside of work, she was a lover of all animals.

Besides her parents, she was preceded by her first husband- John Lukashunas in 1980 and her brother-in-law – Robert Tutko.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Cupp, and by her children whom she loved dearly, her 3 sons- John Lukashunas with his wife Jan of Frackville, Steven Lukashunas with his wife Jennifer of Elysburg, and Kurtis Cupp with Larissa of Harrisburg, her daughter- Michelle Cupp of Harrisburg, also surviving are her brother- Vance Williams with his wife Helen of Arizona, her sister- Denise Tutko of Frackville, 6 grandchildren- Michael, Jacob, Gia, Macy, Liam, and Noah, along with 1 niece and 1 nephew.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 17th from 8 to 10am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, Shenandoah. Services will be conducted at 9:45am in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Evelyn Leckner, 88, of Girardville passed away Tuesday morning March 10, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center-Danville.

Born in Girardville on September 8, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Mary (Yousavage) and Joseph Leckner.

She was of the Catholic faith and was member of the former St. Vincent de Paul Church in Girardville.

Evelyn graduated from Butler Township High School in 1955. She worked for Prudential Insurance for many years before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters Mary Teresavage and Rita Falzarano; 2 brothers Joseph and Vincent Leckner; 2 nieces Sharon Serviss and Mariane Johnstone; nephew Joseph Leckner III.

Surviving are nephews & nieces Peter Teresavage (Linda), Shenandoah Heights; Kathy Leckner, John Leckner, Mary Merwin, Mark Leckner, Valarie Leckner, Paul Leckner, Steven Falzarano and Brian Falzarano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday March 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Charles Boromeo Church, 1115 Walnut St, Ashland PA 17921. Burial will take place at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Frackville following mass.
