According to Mahanoy Township Police, officers set up the checkpoint along Morea Road as part of an enforcement initiative.
During the operation, police reported one individual was arrested for driving under the influence. In addition, two individuals were taken into custody on immigration-related matters.
Authorities also noted that multiple vehicle operators were cited or warned for various traffic violations encountered during the checkpoint.
Mahanoy Township Police were assisted during the operation by officers from Ryan Township Police and Mahanoy City Police.
