According to the Pottsville Police Department, officers were dispatched to Glow Spa, located at 115 South Centre Street, around 8:52 p.m. on March 15, 2026, for a report of a breaking and entering.
Police say the suspect, identified as Kevin Favinger, 51, of St. Clair, entered the building after normal business hours. Investigators allege Favinger gained access through a side door of the building and then entered the spa through a rear doorway connected to a common hallway without authorization.
Once inside, Favinger is accused of removing approximately $100 in cash from the register before exiting through the same rear doorway and side entrance.
Authorities said surveillance footage from inside the business captured the incident. Additional cameras from outside the building and nearby areas also documented the suspect’s movements before, during, and after the theft. Police said the footage showed Favinger entering the property, committing the theft, and leaving the scene.
Through further investigation, including the review of multiple camera systems, officers identified Favinger and connected him to a blue 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck seen in the footage. The vehicle is reportedly registered to Favinger’s employer, who also owns the building at 115 South Centre Street.
Based on the investigation, police filed charges on April 7, 2026, including felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass, along with misdemeanor charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Favinger was taken into custody at his residence in St. Clair on April 11, 2026. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Bayer and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 bail, set at 10 percent.
