Ann Helen Metaxas, age 88, of Mechanicsville, PA passed away Wednesday, April 15th, 2026 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Born in Mechanicsville, PA on July 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George and Pauline (Minot) Metaxas.

Born in Mechanicsville, PA on July 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George and Pauline (Minot) Metaxas.
Ann was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1956. She worked as the head Bookkeeper at the Union Bank in Pottsville for 20 years and was a member of the former St. Casimir Church in St. Clair.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Kimmel in 2023.
Ann is survived by her sister Veronica "Nicka" DeMatteo and her husband Morris; her granddaughters Juliana Kimmel and Serina; and good friend and neighbor David Hess and his wife Mary Ann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair at 10AM on Wednesday, April 22nd, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.
Ann is survived by her sister Veronica "Nicka" DeMatteo and her husband Morris; her granddaughters Juliana Kimmel and Serina; and good friend and neighbor David Hess and his wife Mary Ann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair at 10AM on Wednesday, April 22nd, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday morning from 9-10AM at the church.
Interment will be held in the St. Casimir's Cemetery, Port Carbon.

Linda Mae Kahler, 83, of Pottsville, formerly of Lititz, passed away April 13, 2026.
Born in Waynesboro July 22, 1942 she was a daughter of the late Everett and Helen (Watson) Wills.
She was a graduate of Fairfield High School, going on to receive her Bachelor Degree in Education at Shippensburg University.
She worked as a teacher before switching to a Bookkeeper for an Office supply company. Linda was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Lititz; Lititz Lioness Club; Girls Scouts, both as a Scout and later a Troop Leader.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a Brother Lee Wills; Sisters Debra Heffner and Elaine Strachan;
Surviving are 2 Children Pamela Lynn Zedonek (Widow of Peter) Pottsville; Jeffrey R. Kahler Husband of Holly Minnich of Lititz; 3 Grandchildren Ashtyn, Laura and Julia; Nieces and Nephews;
Joint Funeral Services for Linda and her sister Elaine will be held at a later date from Apostolic Church, Greenstone. Rev. Eugene Cline will be officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901 Burial will be in Fountaindale Union Cemetery, Fountaindale. Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Clauser Williamson, 94, a former resident of Valley View, passed away peacefully in the company of her family at Providence Place Senior Living Center in Pottsville, where she had been currently residing.
Shirley was born in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County on August 29, 1931, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Annie (Warner) Clauser.
She was a 1949 graduate of the Cressona High School, and went onto work for the Pennsylvania National Bank in Pottsville for many years. She then last worked for Kocher Coal Company in Valley View, retiring in 1995.
Shirley was a member of Friedens UCC Church, Hegins, where she was a former member of the church council. An avid traveler in her early years, she enjoyed all kinds of puzzles, Scrabble and playing cards. She was known for her "green thumb" and found great joy raising plants and caring for her garden.
The last member of her immediate family, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, C. Leonard (Pete) Williamson in 2003; her sisters, Mae Epler and Meda Schrack, and a brother Elwin Clauser.
She is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Richard Clauser, Brian Clauser, Cheryl Zimmerman, Pam Clauser, Marilyn Kreiner, Leanna Light, Aveline Stees and John Epler, along with 12 grand nieces and nephews and 21 great grand nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Friedens UCC Church, 522 Chestnut Street, Hegins, at 11 AM on Monday, April 27th, 2026, with Rev. Michael Klahr, officiating. A time for visitation will be from 10-11 AM at the church, prior to the service. Shirley will be laid to rest alongside her husband, immediately following the service.
Shirley had requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Friedens UCC Scholarship Fund, in care of Friedens UCC Church, 522 Chestnut Street, Hegins, PA 17938.
