The Schuylkill United Way has announced the return of its 9th Annual High School Football Challenge, set for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Ghosh Orthodontics Stadium.
The event will bring together all 14 high school football teams from across Schuylkill County for an evening of competition that highlights athleticism, teamwork, and community pride.
Participants will compete in seven skill-based challenges designed to test strength, speed, and agility, including passing accuracy, a 185-pound bench press, broad jump, tire flip, two-man sled relay, farmers carry, and a shuttle relay. The fan-favorite Kick Out Contest will also return.
Awards will be presented to top performers in each individual event, along with team honors for Strength Champion and Speed and Agility Champion. The overall winning team will take home the Schuylkill United Way Traveling Trophy, the County Commissioners Trophy, and a championship banner.
Now in its ninth year, the event has raised more than $200,000 to support student initiatives funded by the Schuylkill United Way. Those funds help provide programs and resources that benefit young people throughout the county.
Organizers say the Football Challenge not only serves as a fundraiser but also as the unofficial kickoff to the high school football season in Schuylkill County.
Admission to the event is free, and residents are encouraged to attend, and support their local teams.
