Suspicious Vehicle Complaint in Mahanoy Township Leads to Immigration Custody

A report of a suspicious vehicle in a neighborhood Monday led to a follow-up investigation that resulted in one person being taken into custody and turned over for federal immigration processing, according to Mahanoy Township Police.
Police say the initial complaint was received on April 27, 2026. Following further investigation, officers took a male into custody on a subsequent date. Authorities confirmed the individual was transferred to federal officials for immigration-related processing.

As part of the investigation, two vehicles were also impounded by police.
