Two Schuylkill County men are facing multiple charges after Minersville Police say they were involved in a violent assault early Saturday morning.
According to court documents, officers were dispatched around 2:51 a.m. on March 28, 2026, to the 100 block of Sunbury Street in Minersville for a report of a man lying in the roadway who had just been assaulted.
When police arrived, they found the victim suffering from facial injuries. He was conscious but not alert. Officers provided aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to Lehigh Valley East Hospital.
A witness told police she observed two men assaulting the victim in the middle of the street. According to the affidavit, the suspects were seen kicking and stomping the victim before leaving the scene in a red vehicle.
Police later located a vehicle matching the witness description traveling on Sunbury Street and conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block. One of the occupants, identified as Delroy Rodney, of Mahanoy City, matched the description provided by the witness.
Later that day, authorities learned the victim had been transferred to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Trauma Center due to the severity of his injuries.
In a subsequent interview, the victim told police the incident stemmed from an altercation involving a birthday cake he had been helping carry to a vehicle after a party at the Alibi Bar. The victim said a confrontation occurred in the street, during which he was struck and knocked to the ground. He told investigators that both Rodney and another male then kicked and stomped him while he was on the ground.
Medical records indicated the victim sustained multiple facial fractures.
The witness later identified Rodney from a photograph as one of the individuals involved in the assault.
Minersville Police have since obtained arrest warrants through Magisterial District Judge Edward Lewis for the following individuals:

- Delroy Rodney, 33, of Mahanoy City
Both are charged with:
