Runners and walkers are invited to lace up their sneakers this weekend for the annual Fighting 400 5K in Gordon, an event that will benefit the Gordon Fire Department.
The race will take place on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, beginning at 10:00am. Hosted by the Gordon Fire Department, the event will guide participants through the streets of Gordon on a challenging course featuring a mix of flat paved surfaces and occasional inclines.
Organizers said this year’s course will differ from previous years and will conclude at the borough’s community park. The race will begin at the Gordon Firehouse, located at the intersection of West Plane and Otto Streets, and end at the Community Park at the intersection of Park and Royer Streets.
Roads along the route will be closed during the event for the safety of participants.
Food trucks will be on site offering food and beverages before and after the race, creating a community atmosphere for runners, families, and spectators alike.
The first 100 participants to register will receive a free event shirt.
Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups:
- 13 and Under
- 14-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70+
