Three Facing Trespassing Charges After Investigation at Abandoned North Manheim Township Farmhouse

Three individuals are facing charges after Pennsylvania State Police say they were found near an abandoned farmhouse in North Manheim Township late last year.
According to court documents filed by the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident occurred around 6:37 p.m. on October 28, 2025, after police received a report of someone with a flashlight walking around an abandoned farmhouse located at 1000 West Market Street in North Manheim Township.

Police said Orwigsburg Police arrived at the scene prior to state police and requested assistance. The property is reportedly owned by Metropolitan Management Group.

Upon arriving at the scene around 6:44 p.m., troopers made contact with three individuals identified as Chad A. Benjamin, 45, of Mahanoy City, Danielle Kapes, 45, of Beaver Meadows, and Colleen M. Miller, 56, of Mahanoy City.

According to the affidavit, Kapes told police that she, Benjamin, and Miller had been at a DG Sports Cards store in Orwigsburg purchasing Pokémon cards. The group stopped at the farmhouse because they had heard it was haunted and wanted to check it out.

Court documents state the house was open and windows were busted out, but the group told police they never entered the farmhouse and only walked around outside.

Benjamin was charged with loitering and prowling at night time, trespass by motor vehicle, and criminal trespass/simple trespasser.

Kapes and Miller were each charged with loitering and prowling at night time and criminal trespass/simple trespasser.

All three are scheduled for preliminary hearings before Casimir T. Kosciolek on June 30, 2026.
