According to a public information release, troopers responded to Old Route 209 in Schuylkill Township at approximately 9:56 a.m. on May 26, 2026, for a report of a theft.
Police said Verizon reported that approximately 1,060 feet of 300-pair, 19-gauge wire had been removed from a pole line located along Old Route 209. The stolen wire is valued at approximately $12,300.
Troopers noted that the theft was discovered on May 26, but it is unknown exactly when the wire was taken.
The investigation remains ongoing.
